Life with missing teeth can be hard. The gaps in your smile can make it difficult to eat, smile, and talk. But at Dr. Grivas’ office, our team of dental professionals is excited to help you restore your smile and quality of life with dental implants.
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are devices placed in your jaw that act as your new teeth and roots. Made with biocompatible titanium, your implants fuse with your jaw, making them the most permanent and sturdy solution to tooth loss.
Your journey to a brand new smile begins with a consultation. During this visit, Dr. Grivas will professionally deep clean your teeth. He’ll also take CT scans to evaluate your jawbone density. Depending on the results of your scan, he may have to treat any underlying problems or perform a supplemental procedure before placing your implants.
After he’s performed any necessary procedures, you’ll return to our office to have your implants placed. We’ll use a local anesthetic on the surgical site. If you have anxiety, we can also use one of our dental sedation options during your implant procedure.
You’ll return to our office after a sufficient healing time following your procedure to install your permanent tooth caps. These natural-looking porcelain caps fit on the top of your implant, creating a sturdy, lifelong solution.
How Do I Take Care Of My Implants?
While dental implants can be a lifelong solution to tooth loss, the best way to ensure your replacements last is to take proper care of them. Thankfully, it’s easy to care for your implants. Just brush and floss your teeth twice a day to keep your implants free from plaque.
The best way to keep your dental implants healthy is to schedule twice-yearly appointments with Dr. Grivas. During your routine checkup, he’ll examine your replacements after professionally deep cleaning them. This professional cleaning ensures your teeth stay sturdily in your gums.
