Porcelain Veneers in Sacramento, CA

A Faster, Simpler Way To Enhance Your Smile

Many people want a pearly white smile to help them feel confident and attractive. Unfortunately, as we get older, a multitude of factors such as age, genetics, medication regimens, diet, alcohol, and tobacco use can make a white smile harder to achieve and maintain.

Professional teeth whitening and restorations like dental implants can make a big difference in your smile, but you may not currently qualify. Luckily, patients of Dr. Grivas can undergo cosmetic dentistry to enhance their smile without whitening procedures or more costly, invasive restorations, by getting porcelain veneers.

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin, customized white shells that fit over your natural teeth to enhance their length, shape, and color. Veneers are customized to blend in seamlessly with your smile for a natural appearance. With porcelain veneers you can completely rejuvenate your smile’s appearance in just two short appointments to our Sacramento, CA office. A man compares his teeth to porcelain veneers shade testers.

The Veneers Process

Your Consultation

Before you can get your porcelain veneers and enjoy a brighter, whiter smile, you’ll undergo a consultation with Dr. Grivas. During your consultation, Dr. Grivas will gather the information necessary to decide if porcelain veneers are a good treatment option for you. He’ll examine your mouth, review your medical history, and discuss your smile goals with you.

Dr. Grivas may also suggest treating underlying oral health issues before you receive veneers. Treating oral health issues beforehand can help enhance and maintain your oral health while you wear veneers.

Designing Your Veneers

Once Dr. Grivas has decided that you’re a good candidate for porcelain veneers, we’ll take digital images and impressions of your teeth that will serve as the blueprints for your veneers. These blueprints will be sent to an offsite laboratory where your veneers will be crafted, a process that usually takes about two to four weeks

We’ll contact you to schedule your next appointment at our Sacramento office once your veneers are ready.

Preparation

Before Dr. Grivas applies your porcelain veneers, we’ll make any necessary adjustments to them to ensure they look perfect and fit comfortably. Once you’ve approved the size and shape, we’ll apply a local anesthetic to ensure you don’t feel any pain when Dr. Grivas is preparing your teeth.

When we’re sure your anesthetic is working properly, Dr. Grivas will remove a small amount of enamel from the surface of your teeth, usually no more than 2/100’s of an inch, or about the thickness of a fingernail. Removing a small portion of your teeth’s enamel helps your veneers remain in place.

Applying Your Veneers

Once the surface of your teeth is ready, we’ll adhere your porcelain veneers to the front of your teeth with a special dental adhesive. You’ll leave our Sacramento office with the stunning smile of your dreams that same day!
