Professional Teeth Whitening, Superior Results
Are you struggling with your confidence because of stains on your teeth? Age, time, diet, and genetics all play roles in the discoloration and staining of your teeth.
These stains are often difficult to remove without professional treatment. While it may be tempting to use a store-bought whitening kit, they often produce inferior results and take multiple applications to work.
Using over-the-counter whitening kits also means you lose out on valuable dental precision and supervision, putting you at higher risk for post whitening sensitivity, gum irritation, and enamel damage.
Fortunately, Dr. Grivas offers professional ZOOM! Teeth Whitening, a safe, effective way to get the bright, smile of your dreams.
What is ZOOM! Teeth Whitening?
ZOOM! Teeth Whitening is an advanced technology that allows us to eliminate both extrinsic (outer) stains on the surface of your teeth and intrinsic (inner) stains which lay beneath your teeth’s enamel. With ZOOM! Teeth Whitening, you can walk out of our office with a smile that’s up to eight shades brighter the same day!
Zoom! Teeth Whitening Works With LED Technology
ZOOM! Teeth Whitening uses a combination of the latest LED technology and a powerful whitening gel. Our special whitening gel strengthens your enamel which drastically reduces your chances of post-whitening sensitivity. Together, the LED technology and whitening gel penetrate your enamel, lifting stains to the surface where they can be eliminated.
The ZOOM! Teeth Whitening Process
Your Consultation
We know you’re eager to reap the benefits of ZOOM! Teeth Whitening, but before you can enjoy a whiter smile, you’ll undergo a consultation with Dr. Grivas.
He’ll examine your mouth, review your medical history, and discuss your smile goals with you to determine if ZOOM! Teeth Whitening is the right treatment option for you.
Preparing and Protecting Your Teeth
We’ll perform a professional deep cleaning to remove any plaque, tartar, and bacteria from your teeth. This ensures the whitening gel can fully reach your enamel. Then, we’ll coat your gums and lips in a protective liquid to keep them safe from the bleaching agents and UV rays of the LED light.
Applying the ZOOM! Teeth Whitening Treatment
Once we’ve cleaned and protected your mouth, we’ll apply the ZOOM! whitening gel. Our whitening gel is both gentle and powerful, made to penetrate your enamel, oxidizing it and releasing the stains that mark your teeth. Exposing the gel to LED light helps it dissolve the deeper stains.
We’ll expose your teeth to this light in three 15-minute increments, checking each time to see if we’ve reached your desired shade. Patients are usually satisfied with their results after less than an hour of exposure to our LED-assisted treatments.
Rinse and Smile!
Once you’re satisfied with your new shade, we’ll rinse your teeth and reveal a smile you’ll be proud to show off.
Frequently Asked Questions
The accessibility and affordability of store-bought whitening kits can make them a tempting option. However, Dr. Grivas strongly advises against starting any dental treatment, including teeth whitening, without prior consultation with your dental professional.
Without professional dental advice and a thorough exam to ensure that your teeth are healthy enough for whitening treatment, you run the risk of:
- Increased post-whitening sensitivity
- Gum irritation
- Damaging your enamel
- Ineffective treatment
In-office ZOOM! Teeth Whitening is led and directed by a dental professional like Dr. Grivas, who will assess your mouth beforehand and determine your individual needs before starting any treatment plan. This will help ensure the safety and effectiveness of your results.
Professional teeth whitening makes use of bleaching agents that open the pores of your teeth and help bring deep stains to the surface. This exposes the dentin layer, where living tissue and nerves are housed. When bleaching agents come into contact with the nerves in your teeth, this can cause some slight pain and discomfort.
ZOOM! Teeth Whitening reduces your chances of post-whitening sensitivity to almost none, but some sensitivity is normal and usually fades within three days. If you do experience sensitivity in your teeth post-whitening, Dr. Grivas recommends these tips to manage it:
- Use tooth mousse
- Coat your teeth in vitamin e oil
- Use a toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth
- Avoid hot and cold foods for at least three days after whitening treatment
- Take an over-the-counter pain reliever
If you experience sensitivity lasting more than three days, call our Sacramento office at (916) 929-9222 or fill out our online contact form and a team remember will get back to you shortly.
